just maybe i am the luckiest girl in the world.

countless stars shone fiercely down
illuminating the dark night
i have never seen them as clear
or as bright
twinkling and smiling
i could almost believe it was especially for me.

so everything didnt turn out perfect
there were the minor glitches that come even with the most perfect of plans
but hey i would like the believe that everyone had a great time
i know i did.
just having everyone take the time to come down
have all the people i love around me
that as the best present one could have.

the sparks flew in all directions

dispelling the shadows

together with the glow of the candles

dimly lit up our faces

radiating in happiness and joy

the last strains of happy birthday fade into silence

the sparklers burn themselves out

a deep breath

and the flames extinguish

but the fire and joy in my heart is still burning
